And they are off

Let the games begin! The college football season kicks off this weekend and odds are, the majority of the Peach State will be planted on the couch or at stadiums to see the games.

So are the prospects. Here is a rundown of this weekend's visitors:

Tanner Smith, a 2008 prospect from Norcross's Wesleyan High School, and Toby Veal, of Savannah Johnson High School, are both officially visiting Auburn. Both are ranked amongst the top 11 players in the senior class in the Peach State by Georgia Hoops.

The University of Georgia is pulling out all of the stops this weekend. Class of 2008 commitments Howard "Trey" Thompkins of Wesleyan and Dustin Ware of North Cobb Christian are making their official visits to Athens for the Oklahoma State game. The commits will be joined by Serbian big man Drazen Zlovaric.

Thompkins is the third rated player in the state by Georgia Hoops and Ware is the second best point guard in the Peach State, according to Georgia Hoops.

Miami is hosting Wheeler's Dequan Jones. The trip marks the first official visit for one of the most explosive athletes. Jones is a top 10 prospect in the state's loaded senior class.
